Clutch Hitting Delivers Win for Sod Poodles
The Ames Sod Poodles beat the Cedar Rapids Haymakers, 8-6, at Community Field. The win was due in part to left fielder Brennen Majors, who went 1 for 1 with a home run and was hit by a pitch, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. The Sod Poodles improved to 52-47.

The game ended with a bang. In the bottom of the ninth, with Ames trailing 6-5, Isaac Brayton jumped on a 1-1 fastball from Gordon Rauth for a 3-run home run, sending the Sod Poodles to a walk-off win.

"There's nothing like the buzz of a walk-off win," Brayton said.
