The Ames Sod Poodles beat the Cedar Rapids Haymakers, 4-1, at Community Field. Elijah Crowley, in particular, was impressive. He was 2-3 with 2 singles. Cameron Morgan picked up the save for Ames, his 3rd of the year. With the win, Ames pushed its record to 53-47.

The Sod Poodles got a big at-bat from designated hitter Emanuel Ortiz. For the game, Ortiz was 1 for 4 with a double, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the second, with runners on 2nd and 3rd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 1st double of the season gave Ames a 2-1 lead.
