Fading Muskies Lose 7th Straight
|
Both teams had their chances, but the Quad Cities River Bandits eventually prevailed.
Madison shortstop Alexander Soprano had a terrific game, but it still wasn't enough to get his team a win. Soprano went 2 for 5 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once, even as Quad Cities beat the Muskies, 4-3. The win went to Apostolos Galis in relief, making him now 4-6. Levi Denton took the loss for Madison.
Oscar Elvita helped out the Quad Cities cause in the bottom of the fifth inning with a 2-run single. For the game, the first baseman went 1-4, while adding 2 RBI.
"We've hit a lull," said Madison manager Aaron Cox.
The 6th-place River Bandits lifted their record to 49-52.
