The performance of Jonny Tanner proved critical in helping Ames beat Madison, 10-5. The Sod Poodles right fielder went 2 for 2 with a home run and 2 walks. He scored 4 runs and drove in 2. Ames is 56-51 and Madison, with the loss, 65-42.

Ames used a clutch at-bat from Florentino Ramírez to capture the win. The first baseman hammered a grand slam home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Sod Poodles ahead, 8-3. It was his lone hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
