Quad Cities Wins, Harris goes 4-for-5
|
With left fielder Peter Harris leading the charge, the Quad Cities River Bandits defeated the Ames Sod Poodles, 9-3, at Community Field. Harris went 4-5 with 2 doubles, 2 singles, and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Quad Cities reliever Nel Burgo picked up the win, upping his record to 5-2. Wilber Santay took the loss. Their 64-48 record puts the River Bandits third in the Midwest League Western Division.
Osvaldo Gaghiardi, the 23-year old first baseman , had a direct impact on the outcome. Gaghiardi contributed a run-scoring walk in the top of the fifth inning to put Quad Cities up, 5-2.
"I like the roll we're on," said Quad Cities manager John Buff.
