The Westside Woolly Mammoths faced a tenacious opponent in Fond du Lac pitcher Skip Wyrick, but still scratched out a win at Ballpark of Burlington by a final score of 4-3 in 12 innings. Wyrick went 6.1 innings and allowed 1 run. Picking up the save was 22-year old right-handed pitcher Sanders Whitmore. Westside goes to 59-51, Fond du Lac to 51-59.

Westside used the timely hitting of Jon McFarland to seize the win. The right fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the 12th inning to put the Woolly Mammoths on top, 4-3. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"Exciting game to play in," said McFarland. "Getting the win makes it even better."
