Flint right fielder Jacob Piazza picked up 4 ribbies while helping his team beat back the West Michigan Whitecaps, 9-8. Dilan Lee collected save number 18. At 67-44, the Wolverines find themselves in second place in the Midwest League Eastern Division.

Leonardo Jimez was 1 for 5 with a walk for Flint. The 24-year old center fielder had a key at-bat in the top of the sixth. With no one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 4-4 tie with a run-scoring walk off Rowdy Gilbert. It was his 41st walk of the season.
