Great Lakes and Lake County duked it out and the Loons came out victorious.

The Great Lakes Loons got a strong performance from pitcher Joe Ashton, who stymied the Lake County offense en route to a win, 4-2, at Dow Diamond. Ashton, now 7-2, was the winner. In 5.2 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 4, walking 4, and allowing 2 runs.

Bengie Duran drew 1 walk in 4 trips to the plate for Great Lakes. The 23-year old right fielder had a key at-bat in the bottom of the second. With two out and the bases loaded, he broke a 2-2 tie with a run-scoring walk off Karl Novello. It was his 18th walk of the season.

"Joe was able to locate to both sides, up and down," said Great Lakes manager Eli Coalter.
