3-1 Win Gets Westside to 58-51
|
The Fort Wayne TinCaps and Westside Woolly Mammoths left the fans buzzing.
Westside Woolly Mammoths starter Mark Straatmann was locked-in. He led his team to a win over the Fort Wayne TinCaps, 3-1. In 6 innings, Straatmann surrendered 7 hits, while striking out 2 and walking 1. He allowed no runs.
With scoring opportunities rare, the Woolly Mammoths had to cash in when they had the chance. One such opportunity presented itself in the bottom of the third, when designated hitter Noah Green hit a 2-run single. The single came off Timm Stephenson and made the score 3-0, Woolly Mammoths. Green went 2-4 with 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI.
"We put together a nice win," Green said.
The 6th-place Woolly Mammoths go to 58-51.
