Giants Take Down Hops, 7-6
|
San Francisco and Portland took Mother Nature's best shot and still managed to complete their ballgame.
The San Francisco Giants beat the Portland Hops, 7-6, at The BeerGarden. The Giants got a fine performance from first baseman Jackson Maul, who went 4 for 4 with a double and 3 singles. Jarrett Arojo closed the game out for San Francisco, earning his 1st save.
San Francisco used the clutch hitting of Nolan Peterson to capture the win. The catcher drilled a 2-run double in the top of the eighth inning to give the Giants the lead, 7-4. For the game, Peterson had 1 single and 2 doubles in 5 at-bats.
"I'm proud to wear a San Francisco jersey," Peterson told the San Francisco Citizen. "We played a good game and came out with the win. What more can you ask for?"
The Hops fall to 4-8 and continue their wobbly start to the 2052 season.
