Loons Suffer 9-5 Home Defeat
|
The Clinton LumberKings beat the Great Lakes Loons, 9-5, at Dow Diamond. Clinton designated hitter Bjorn Parmer had an outstanding performance. He went 2 for 4 with a home run, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Owen Claxton picked up the win, improving his season record to 5-1. He struck out 5 in 6 innings. Andy Hopfensperger wrapped it up, recording his 20th save.
Parmer contributed a big hit, a 3-run home run, for Clinton in the top of the fourth. With his team trailing 3-1, Parmer took a fastball from Heath Ley and stroked the home run to left. His 1st home run of the season allowed the LumberKings to leap in front, 4-3.
"We're one win closer to our goal," Parmer said in postgame remarks.
