Woolly Mammoths Take Down LumberKings, 6-5
The Westside Woolly Mammoths had to overcome a big game from Clinton designated hitter Linden Sapp to leave Ashford University Field with a victory. And they did, winning 6-5. Sapp was 2 for 3 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3. Mark Johnston earned the win for Westside. He lasted 5.1 innings, allowing 1 run on 5 hits, while striking out 5. With the win, he raised his record to 3-6. Dustin Cuella got the save, his 25th in 31 chances.

Westside catcher Luke McCulloch contributed a timely at-bat in the top of the seventh. With two down, he hit a fastball into center field for a run-scoring single. It was his 73rd hit of the season and put the Woolly Mammoths ahead, 6-1.

"Enjoyed this one," McCulloch told the Westside Gazette. "But it's back to work tomorrow."

The loss makes Clinton 74-45.
