The Ames Sod Poodles beat the Fort Wayne TinCaps, 4-2, at Parkview Field. The win was due in part to right fielder Kelly McGriff, who was 3-4 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 2 and driving in 2. The winning pitcher was 24-year old right-handed pitcher Kade Williamson. He tossed 108 pitches over 7.1 innings, allowing 2 runs on 6 hits. Rocco Williams recorded the save, his 3rd.

T.J. Wiegert, who is tied for 9th in the MID in extra base hits with 41, had a direct impact on the outcome. Wiegert contributed a run-scoring walk in the top of the eighth inning to put Ames up, 3-2.

"We made a couple of mistakes," said Fort Wayne skipper Nathan Halker, "and it cost us."

Ames bumps their record to 56-67 with the win.
