Riding the 2-hit performance of the 23-year old second baseman Sexto Gómez, the Flint Wolverines stopped the Fort Wayne TinCaps, 4-2. Flint is third in the Midwest League Eastern Division with a record of 73-54.

Gómez had a timely hit for Flint in the top of the sixth. With Flint trailing 2-1, he turned a 2-1 fastball into a 2-run double. It was his 7th double of the season, making it 3-2, Flint.

"Bottom line," said Fort Wayne skipper Nathan Halker, "we didn't play well enough to win."
