Madison Sent Home with 3-1 Loss
|
The Peoria Chiefs, behind a great outing from Benjamin Tillman, who is tied for 6th in the MID with a 1.19 WHIP, defeated the Madison Muskies, 3-1, at Muskies Ballpark. Tillman got the win, improving to 9-6. He gave up 5 hits and walked 3 over 6 innings. He allowed no runs. Picking up the save was Kevin Sarkisian, his 26th.
Peoria used a big swing from Phil Berry to get the win. The first baseman walloped a 2-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Chiefs up, 2-0. It was his lone hit in 3 at-bats, but it changed the outcome.
"It was a good effort all around," said Tillman.
Peoria now has a record of 73-53 with the win.
