The Lake County Captains beat the South Bend Cubs by a score of 6-4. Lake County designated hitter Gunner Medina deserved the lion's share of the credit. Medina went 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once for the Captains. The Captains raised their record to 65-65.
Medina contributed a big hit, a 3-run home run, for Lake County in the bottom of the first. With his team trailing 1-0, Medina took a fastball from Noah Fischer and stroked the home run to left. His 1st home run of the season allowed the Captains to leap in front, 3-1.
"I was just going up there trying to see good pitches, that was about it," said Medina.
