Cubs Earn Late Win
South Bend second baseman Yudiel Espadas was a significant contributor in his team's 5-4 triumph over the Peoria Chiefs. He was 3-3 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once for the Cubs. The Cubs now have a record of 43-87.

The Cubs were down to their last out in the bottom of the ninth inning, when 20-year old catcher Noah Hawkins landed a big blow. He turned a 0-1 fastball from Ollie De Los Santos into a 2-run single. The walk-off single sent the Four Winds Field at Coveleski Stadium denizens into a frenzy and sent the Cubs home with a thrilling 5-4 win.

"I'm a bit of a clubhouse prankster," said Hawkins. "But it's all business when we're on the field."
