Loons Jolt Lugnuts, 4-0, with Late Rally
|
Oscar Allen was locked and loaded, helping the Great Lakes Loons beat the Lansing Lugnuts, 4-0. Brantley Salvant notched his 9th save in 12 chances. Great Lakes, at 80-55, sits in first place in the Midwest League Eastern Division.
Great Lakes needed the clutch hitting of Owen Reed to seal the deal. The catcher swatted a grand slam home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Loons on top, 4-0. For the game, Reed had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"Oscar has got a slow heartbeat," said Great Lakes manager Eli Coalter. "He doesn't panic or anything."
