Columbia Grabs 4-0 Road Win
|
Columbia used a superb performance from starting pitcher Gray Whitmarsh to down the Asheville Tourists, 4-0. The win moves Columbia to a record of 2-1.
Columbia used the hitting of Ashton Rice to pick up the win. The first baseman clubbed a 3-run home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Fireflies on top, 3-0. For the game, Rice had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"I tried to mix it up, keep them off balance," said Whitmarsh.
