Drive Rebuff Grasshoppers, 6-4

The Greenville Drive defeated the Greensboro Grasshoppers by the score of 6-4, with the biggest share of the credit going to left fielder Roman Simon. Simon went 2 for 5 with a home run, while scoring 2 and driving in 2 for the Drive on the day. Greenville reliever Pirro Deco picked up the win, while Kevin Emery took the loss for Greensboro. Lane Cross finished to wrap up his 1st save.
With Greenville leading 4-1 in the bottom of the seventh, Simon hit a fastball from Kevin Emery for a 2-run home run. It was his 2nd home run of the season and put the Drive ahead, 6-1.
"We've got great fans," said Simon. "I hope they got what they came for."
Greensboro now has a record of 1-1.
