GreenJackets Use Late Score to Top Grasshoppers, 2-1
|
The Augusta GreenJackets, despite a fine performance by Greensboro pitcher Andrew Krause, grabbed a 2-1 win at First Energy Park. Krause allowed 1 run over 6 innings. The GreenJackets, now 2-1, have played some good baseball in the early going.
When he batted in the bottom of the ninth, Daiquel Ramos had a golden opportunity to change the game's outcome. Greensboro pitcher Pablo San Martin was determined not to let him. But with no outs, Ramos drew a walk, driving in 1 run -- and the GreenJackets had a suspense-filled triumph.
"I was a little disappointed," said Greensboro manager Mason Bartz. "We could've and should've scored more runs."
