Fans brought energy and enthusiasm to the Greenville Drive home opener. Francesco Lepro started for the home team against Randall Matthews for the Lexington Legends. The Drive were unable to reward the home crowd with a win. The final score was 6-3, Lexington. Logan LeValley, though, was impressive. Lexington reliever Cole Tuttle was the winner. His record is now 1-0. The losing pitcher was Francesco Lepro.
It could have been a different outcome for Lexington, had it not been for Jonah Weeks, the 22-year old left fielder . Weeks contributed a run-scoring hit-by-pitch in the top of the fifth inning to put Lexington up, 4-2.
Weeks called the win "a lesson in teamwork."
