The Delmarva Shorebirds scooped up a win at L.P. Frans Stadium, dumping the Hickory Crawdads, 5-2. Diego De La Torre was essential to his team's success. The Shorebirds raised their record to 4-1.

It could have been a different outcome for Delmarva, had it not been for Michael Freimark, the 22-year old left fielder . Freimark contributed a 2-run double in the top of the third inning to put Delmarva up, 3-0.

"My job is to go out and execute," said De La Torre.
