The Jonesboro Growlers defeated the West Virginia Power, 6-4, in South Atlantic League action at Growlers Ballpark. Jonesboro pitcher Brandon Payton had a standout performance. Ruslan Ramírez closed out the game, earning his 4th save. The win puts Jonesboro at 5-1.

Joe Rhodehamel had a big 3-run home run for the Growlers in the bottom of the second inning. With Jonesboro leading 1-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a splitter from 21-year old right-handed pitcher Jericho Dahilan and swatted a home run to right. It was his 1st home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Growlers ahead, 4-0.

"I just tried to attack the bottom of the zone," Payton said.
