Catfish Get Dramatic 5-4 Triumph
|
The Greenville Drive got a superb performance from designated hitter Bevan Freeman, but the Columbus Catfish still won the game, 5-4. Freeman went 4 for 6 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles, while scoring 2 and driving in 3. Felipe Sánchez, now 1-0, was credited with the win. He allowed 1 run on 1 hit, while striking out 1 and walking 1. Columbus is off to a hot start at 5-1.
The Catfish procured the win, in large part because of catcher Hadrian Rivera. In the bottom of the 13th, he produced the game-winning run-scoring single.
"Our guys just had that look of determination," said winning manager Francisco Avalos.
