Schooley, Catfish Beat Crawdads, 4-2
|
The Columbus Catfish downed the Hickory Crawdads, 4-2, at Progressive Field. The Catfish were led by Fred Schooley. Schooley went 4-5 with a home run and 3 singles. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. Yangency Bennett closed the door for Columbus, picking up his 2nd save of the year. The win puts Columbus at 4-3.
C.J. Ortiz could have done more damage. In the top of the ninth, with Hickory trailing 4-1, Hickory had runners on 1st and 3rd. That's when Ortiz grounded out, driving in 1 run. But it was not enough. Columbus would go on to win the game.
