Intimidators Deal Bananas 3-2 Loss
|
Kannapolis turned a good performance from starting pitcher Albert McKinzie into a 3-2 triumph over the Savannah Bananas at Ballpark of Savannah. The winning pitcher was McKinzie, now 2-0. He tossed 5.1 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 3 and fanning 6. The Intimidators, now 8-2, have had a terrific start to the season.
Kannapolis used a clutch at-bat from Mickey Fishman to capture the win. The center fielder hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Intimidators ahead, 2-1. It was his lone hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
"My job is to throw quality pitches, go as deep as I can, and give us an opportunity," said McKinzie.
