Lindsey Has Hot Hand, Bangs 5 hits
|
It's not something you read about in the sports pages every day -- a 5-for-6 day. For many, it might come around only once in a career -- and for Adan Lindsey, it came around today.
The 22-year-old left fielder scattered hits all over Joseph P. Riley, Jr. Park to pace the 17-7 Kannapolis Intimidators victory over the Charleston RiverDogs.
Charleston skipper Ramon Acosta told reporters in the press room that "Lindsey deserves a hat-tip."
"He hit some good pitches against us," he said. "In fact, according to our scouting reports, Lindsey hit several that he is not supposed to be able to hit."
Adan Lindsey hit a two-run home run off Lou Henderson in the 2nd, flied out in the 2nd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, singled in the 6th, singled in the 7th and hit a GRAND SLAM off Justino Cojera in the 9th.
This year, Lindsey is hitting .475, produced 18 RBIs and 3 home runs, scored 8 times and gotten on base at a .500 rate.
