Rome Braves starter D.J. Alley turned in an exceptional performance against the Greensboro Grasshoppers at State Mutual Stadium, resulting in a Rome win, 2-0. Orson Zimmer earned the save, his 6th, for the Braves. The Braves raised their record to 7-6.

The Braves got a big hit from third baseman Odell Mordecai. In the bottom of the sixth, Mordecai pounded a solo home run to left. His 3rd home run of the season put the Braves ahead, 2-0.

Mordecai told a Rome Daily reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.
