Shorebirds Use Late-Game Magic to Beat RiverDogs, 3-2
|
Delmarva Shorebirds starter Rodmy Saldana turned in a sparkling performance against the Charleston RiverDogs, leading his team to a 3-2 win. Delmarva reliever Clint Ross picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Josh Brisson absorbed the loss. The RiverDogs drop to 4-9, as their stumbling start to the 2069 season continues.
Had Jonas Kellenberger not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 3rd, Kellenberger hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 3-2, in favor of the Shorebirds.
"All in all, I thought Rodmy pitched a fine game for us tonight," said Delmarva manager Dane Harrison.
