Intimidators Suffer 5-3 Setback
|
The Bowling Green Hot Rods overcame a good performance by Kannapolis catcher Bruno Lebron to knock off Kannapolis, 5-3, at CMC-NorthEast Stadium. Lebron went 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles. The winner was Bowling Green reliever B.J. Radcliffe, now 1-0. The loser was Stephen Taylor. The save was credited to Keith Shea, his 4th.
Bowling Green used a clutch hit from Samuel McMahan to get the win. The pinch hitter drilled a 2-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Hot Rods ahead, 5-3. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.
"Say want you want about this team, they play nine innings hard," said Bowling Green manager Oscar Cornejo.
Bowling Green is now 12-4.
