Hot Rods Suffer 6-4 Loss to RiverDogs
|
The Charleston RiverDogs had to overcome a big game from Bowling Green left fielder Nickenson Baal to leave Joseph P. Riley, Jr. Park with a victory. And they did, winning, 6-4. Baal went 2 for 4 with a home run and a double. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Linus Towner got the win, improving to 2-1. He pitched 5 innings, giving up 8 hits and 4 runs, while striking out 2 and walking 2. With the win, Charleston is 5-12.
The RiverDogs got a big at-bat from left fielder Silas Ware. For the game, Ware went 1 for 4 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the first, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 3rd home run of the season gave Charleston a 3-1 lead.
"Some wins are easy and some are difficult, but either way we come to the ballpark ready to work hard every day," Ware told the Charleston Herald.
