Tourists Bump Off Intimidators, 3-0
|
The Asheville Tourists racked up a win at McCormick Field, bumping off the Kannapolis Intimidators, 3-0. Noah Monteroso, who started for Asheville, pitched effectively for his team. Monteroso, the winner, moves to 1-1. He threw 6 innings of 3-hit ball, while fanning 4 and giving up 1 walk. Kannapolis drops to 10-8.
The Tourists benefited from a costly error in the bottom of the fourth. With Dustin Harris at bat and Asheville leading 1-0, the Kannapolis miscue allowed Asheville to plate 1 and take the lead, 2-0.
"This team is capable of getting on a roll," said Asheville skipper Orlando Lopez.
