Ovalle 3-for-4, Tourists Move to 15-8
|
The Asheville Tourists stopped the Hickory Crawdads, 8-4, at McCormick Field. The Tourists got a big game from Felipe Ovalle, who went 3 for 4 with a home run and a double, while scoring 3 and driving in 3. No one expected much of this team, but the hot start by Asheville might have some re-evaluating their pre-season predictions. This latest win lifts their record to 15-8.
In the bottom of the fourth, Tristan Toma delivered a clutch hit. With two gone and runners on 1st and 3rd, the Asheville center fielder hit a run-scoring single, putting the Tourists in front, 8-4.
"We'll grab a cold beverage tonight and go after another win tomorrow," Ovalle said.
