Tomich Hits 2 home runs in Bananas Win
|
The Savannah Bananas turned back the Columbus Catfish, 6-5, at Progressive Field. Rich Tomich, in particular, had a fine performance. He went 3-4 with 2 home runs. He scored 3 times and drove in 3. Savannah reliever Michael Embry picked up the win, raising his record to 3-1. Luigence Estepona was tagged with the loss. Herman Mills earned the save, his 3rd.
Savannah took a 5-2 lead on Tomich's 6th home run of the season. The 2-run home run, which he hit off Luigence Estepona in the top of the sixth, propelled Savannah to the win.
"This is a great group to be a part of, and it's a big win for us," Tomich told the Savannah Citizen.
With their winning streak at 4, the Bananas have raced to a strong start this season.
