Phillies Nip Orioles, 6-5
|
The Philadelphia Phillies turned back the Baltimore Orioles, 6-5, at Citizens Bank Park. Rio Ramos, in particular, had a fine performance. He was 2 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. The winner was Kevin Lushbaugh in relief. His record improves to 1-2. Pat Judd took the loss. Alonzo Panico earned the save, his 2nd.
Kyle Negulescu, who finished 2nd in the WEST in runs with 125 in 2044, aided the Philadelphia cause with a run-scoring single in the bottom of the seventh. For the game, the third baseman was 2 for 4 with a double.
"We played hard and won," said Ramos. "Sometimes, baseball really is that easy.'
With the win, Philadelphia lifts its record to 8-7.
