Growlers Defeat BlueClaws, 2-1
|
The Jonesboro Growlers took Lakewood pitcher Hiroyuki Terada's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Lake Olmstead Stadium. The final score had Jonesboro getting past the BlueClaws, 2-1. Terada went 6 innings and allowed 1 run, striking out 4. Jonesboro reliever Bobby Dhenin got the win, raising his record to 1-1. Hunter Britz was tagged with the loss. Lakewood now has a record of 6-20.
The game was at a stalemate until center fielder Amadeo Rosario came to bat in the top of the 13th. Facing Lakewood pitcher Hunter Britz, he hit a first pitch sinker for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Jonesboro on top, 2-1.
"This is a resilient bunch," said Jonesboro manager Brian Beaty.
