Super Swinger -- Mattox Slams 5 Hits
West Virginia catcher Scottie Mattox had a big day at Appalachian Power Park against the Hagerstown Suns. The 21-year-old, who is not typically considered a big threat with the bat, went 5-for-6 and led to the 14-1 Power triumph over Hagerstown.

"Hey, I'm as surprised as you guys are," Mattox said in his postgame comments, smiling as he scolded the press corps for underestimating him. "Maybe I'm not so bad at the plate after all."

Scottie Mattox hit an RBI single in the 2nd, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 6th, hit a three-run home run off Pepillo Barajas in the 7th and flied out in the 8th.

This year, Mattox is batting .340 with 18 hits, 3 home runs, 10 RBIs, 5 walks, .397 OBP and has scored 10 runs.
