Columbus Offense Jammed Up by Grasshoppers
|
Greensboro starter J.D. Cooper put the Columbus offense in a vise grip. The right-hander relied heavily on his splitter in leading the Grasshoppers to a 6-0 win. Cooper yielded no runs over 5 innings to notch the win. He scattered 2 hits, walked 0, and struck out 8. His record improves to 2-0. The Catfish fall to 8-17 and continue their lackluster start to the 2057 season.
The Grasshoppers got a big boost from left fielder T.J. Tesoriero who had a run-scoring walk in the bottom of the first inning off Catfish hurler Al Doe. It was his 16th walk of the season and put Greensboro on top, 1-0.
Tesoriero attributed the win to "energy and focus on the part of everyone."
