The Lexington Legends scooped up a win at Whitaker Bank Ballpark, dumping the Kannapolis Intimidators, 3-2. Yeus González was essential to his team's success. González yielded 2 runs over 8 innings to notch the win. He scattered 4 hits, walked 2, and struck out 4. His record improves to 1-1. Simón Romero closed the door for Lexington, picking up his 2nd save of the year.
In the bottom of the sixth, Lexington left fielder Kolten Clevenger gave his team the lead. With no one out and a runner on 1st, Stitch hit his 1st home run of the year. Kannapolis pitcher Josh Jones surrendered it. With that, the Legends jumped in front, 3-2.
"Yeus throwing strikes, pounding the zone, that is exactly what you want to see," said Lexington manager Daniel Mojica.
The win gives the Legends a record of 5-23.
