Hickory beat Savannah at L.P. Frans Stadium, escaping with a 6-5 win. The win in large part was due to shortstop Carter Roberts. He was 2-3 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. The Bananas are now 10-15.

The decisive blow was delivered by Kaleb Quist in the bottom of the ninth when he hit a solo home run off 24-year old right-handed pitcher Mateo Lezcano to win the game for Hickory. The home crowd went nuts.

"Great to get the crowd on its feet," Roberts said.
