Tourists Cut Down Drive, 7-4
|
Asheville and Greenville duked it out and the Tourists came out victorious.
The Asheville Tourists topped the Greenville Drive, 7-4, in South Atlantic League action at Fluor Field at the West End. The game was highlighted by the performance of Asheville pitcher Bill Hancock. The win belongs to Walt Cribbs in relief. His record improves to 3-1. Chet Anel took the loss for Greenville.
Asheville used the clutch hitting of Dustin Harris to capture the win. The left fielder drilled a run-scoring double in the top of the sixth inning to give the Tourists the lead, 1-0. For the game, Harris had 1 single and 1 double in 4 at-bats.
"Good win for us," said Hancock. "We'll strap it on and go after the next one."
