Extra-Inning Win by Crawdads Over Tourists
|
The Hickory Crawdads outlasted the Asheville Tourists, 6-5, in 16 innings. T.J. Sorenson played a key role, going 3-for-6 for Hickory. The save went to Sal Marte, his 3rd this season. The 4th-place Crawdads improved to 18-14.
The outcome might have been different for Hickory, had it not been for Jonathan Kosmas, the 24-year old right fielder . Kosmas stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the 16th inning to put Hickory up, 6-5. For the game, he was 2 for 8, including 1 double and 1 single.
"We battled our tails off to get this win," said Hickory manager Ernesto Chacon.
