Intimidators Turn Away Shorebirds, 3-2
|
Both teams had their chances, but the Kannapolis Intimidators eventually prevailed.
Kannapolis starter Julian Svehla pitched well against the Delmarva Shorebirds at CMC-NorthEast Stadium. The right-hander led his team to a win, 3-2. Svehla picked up the win for Kannapolis, going 5.2 innings. He gave up 1 run on 4 hits. He now sports a record of 3-1.
The Intimidators got a gift in the bottom of the fifth inning, when they were leading 2-0. With two out and runners on 1st and 3rd, Neil Walthall reached on an error by the 2B, driving in 1 run. It made the score 3-0, Kannapolis.
"Julian was in attack mode the whole game," said Kannapolis manager Jason McDonald.
The Intimidators, at 20-11, sit in third place in the South Atlantic League Carolina Division.
