Braves Need Extra Frames to Get Past Intimidators
|
Rome Braves starter Ace Hoffman was in a groove as he led his team to a win over the Kannapolis Intimidators, 5-4. Ryland Powell picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 1-1. Norm Rider was tagged with the loss. With the win, Rome raised its record to 18-14.
Rome used a clutch hit from Zacharias Anders to get the win. The shortstop drilled a solo home run in the top of the 13th inning to put the Braves ahead, 5-4. It was his only hit in 2 at-bats, but it was a doozy.
"The game is never over 'til it's over," said a jubilant Jake Lappin, the Rome skipper.
