The Columbus Catfish had to overcome a fine effort from Lakewood pitcher José María Almonte to win, 5-4, at Progressive Field. Almonte went 7.1 innings and allowed 1 run. Columbus pitcher Ray Antón got the win. He's now 2-0. Abel Babujyan was tagged with the loss. The victory makes Columbus 10-19.
Isaac Breese helped out the Columbus cause in the bottom of the eighth inning with a run-scoring single. For the game, the catcher was 2-4 with 2 singles.
"I just tried to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Breese.
