Jonesboro pitcher Lennox Karger had a large part in his team beating the Columbus Catfish, 7-2. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Jonesboro reliever Basilio Sauli got the win, raising his record to 1-0. Pelu Fa'amasino was tagged with the loss. The Growlers are now 20-13.

Jonesboro took a 2-1 lead on Melvin Goldberg's 7th home run of the season. The solo home run, which Goldberg hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Columbus pitcher Pelu Fa'amasino visibly frustrated.

"If you don't take any pitches off, you've got a chance to impact the game, and that's what we did," said Jonesboro skipper Cesar Mejia.
