A nice crowd turned out for a clash between the Kannapolis Intimidators and West Virginia Power.

The Kannapolis Intimidators rode a solid performance from 23-year-old starting pitcher Tino Rodriguez to a win, beating the West Virginia Power, 5-1, at Appalachian Power Park. Rodriguez, now 2-2, was the winner. In 7.1 innings, he gave up 3 hits, while striking out 7, walking 1, and allowing 1 run. Rudolph Henderson closed out the game, earning his 5th save.

With one out in the top of the seventh, Patrick Moreno had a game-changing hit. The Intimidators first baseman slammed a 2-run single off Walner Rivera, making the score 4-1, Kannapolis.

"It's always nice to be on the winning side," Moreno told the Kannapolis Chronicle. "But we take nothing for granted."

With the victory, the Intimidators record stands at 21-12.
