Kannapolis Topples Lakewood, 9-3
|
The timely hitting of Trevor Pena helped the Kannapolis Intimidators down the Lakewood BlueClaws, 9-3. Pena went 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2 for the Intimidators. Neil Arrowood, now 1-0, was credited with the win. He allowed no runs on no hits, while striking out 5 and walking 1. With the win, the Intimidators improved to 23-13.
Kannapolis used the timely hitting of A.J. Dyer to seize the win. The designated hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Intimidators on top, 5-3. It was his only hit in 2 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"Being able to play a game for a living is one thing. Being able to play it well and contribute to a win is even better," Pena told the Kannapolis Daily.
