Shorebirds Resilient in 4-3 Win Over West Virginia
|
The Delmarva Shorebirds topped the West Virginia Power by a score of 4-3. Leading the way was shortstop Sean Daigle. Daigle was 3-3 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2 for the Shorebirds. The winner in relief was Samuel Carley. He is now 2-0. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2 innings. The defeat makes West Virginia 13-20.
Nicholas Brom was the walk-off hero for Delmarva. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Shorebirds catcher hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"This place went bonkers at the end," Daigle said.
